Written by John Immel, Within the USA, the practice of Ayurveda is legal and unregulated in all 50 states but it must be practiced in accordance with the laws of each state. Graduates are encouraged to get to know the legal scope of their practice in their particular state. International licensing regulations will vary from country-to-country. Graduates should familiarize themselves with the legal boundaries of their certification so that they can practice safely and legally. For example, in some states practitioners cannot take the pulse of a client unless they have a license to touch. Joyful Belly's School of Ayurveda does not provide a license to practice medicine. Only a medical doctor has a license to practice medicine. Ayurveda counselors are educators in the eyes of the law. Only a licensed medical doctor can diagnose or treat medical diseases. As an Ayurveda practitioner, you will be able educate clients in the traditional use of Ayurveda for various imbalances, and rebalancing vital energies. A certificate of completion is given to those graduates who successfully complete our programs. Without any additional testing or certification, you can legally see clients once you graduate from the AHC or MID program. The Joyful Belly School of Ayurveda is unique among schools in that it provides graduates with a clinic hosted on our website. Please text John at 828-785-8213 if you have questions in this area.
